ReaLemon® and ReaLime® Equivalencies and Recipes


ReaLemon® and ReaLime® are two of the most versatile and easy-to-use ingredients you'll ever come across. A quick splash wakes up beverages, salad dressings and vegetables. ReaLemon and ReaLime also give poultry, fish, meat and all your favorite foods a delicious citrus zing!

Usage Tips
Use ReaLemon and ReaLime instead of fresh lemons and limes:
* 1/4 cup ReaLemon = 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (do not dilute)
* 1/4 cup ReaLime = 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (do not dilute)
* 3 tablespoons ReaLemon = the juice of 1 medium lemon
* 2-3 tablespoons ReaLime = the juice of 1 medium lime
* Shake well before each use.
* Refrigerate after opening
* Use by expiration date
Usage Ideas
ReaLemon is great for:
* Brushing on fruit to prevent browning
* Adding to beverages such as water, soft drinks and tea
* Substituting for small amounts of vinegar & wine in recipes
* Using in salads for a no fat, no sodium dressing
* Using when grilling to keep food moist
* Using in marinades to tenderrize poultry and meat

No buttermilk in the fridge? ReaLemon and milk make a great substitute:
For each cup needed place 1 tablespoon ReaLemon in a glass measuring cup. Add enough milk to make 1 cup total liquid. Let stand for 5 minutes before using.

Quick Fish/Seafood Dipping Sauces
Quick Tartar Sauce
(makes about 1 cup)
* 3/4 cup mayonnaise
* 2 tablespoons pickle relish, drained
* 1 tablespoon chopped green onion
* 1 tablespoon ReaLemon® Lemon Juice from Concentrate
In small bowl, combine ingredients; mix well. Chill to blend flavors.

Tangy Cocktail Sauce
(makes about 1 cup)
* 3/4 cup chili sauce or catsup
* 3 tablespoons ReaLemon® Lemon Juice from Concentrate
* 1/2 teaspoon prepared horseradish
* 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
In small bowl, combine ingredients; mix well. Chill to blend flavors.

Lemon Butter Sauce
(makes about 2/3 cup)
* 1/2 cup margarine or butter
* 3 tablespoons ReaLemon® Lemon Juice from Concentrate
* 1/8 teaspoon salt
In small saucepan, melt margarine; stir in ReaLemon and salt. Serve with fish, seafood or vegetables.

Quick and Easy Glaze — great for icing cookies and cakes
* 4 cups confectioners' sugar
* 1/4 cup ReaLemon® Lemon Juice from Concentrate
With mixer, beat sugar and ReaLemon (add additional ReaLemon in small amounts for a thinner consistency, if desired). Divide glaze and tint with food colorings if desired.

Lemon Butter Frosting — a great frosting for cakes and cupcake
* 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
* 4 cups confectioners' sugar
* 1/4 cup ReaLemon® Lemon Juice from Concentrate
In small mixer bowl, beat margarine or butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually add ReaLemon alternately with remaining 3 cups sugar, beating until light and fluffy.

Easy Lemon Icing — adds a light, lemony touch to cakes and rolls
* 2 tablespoons margarine or butter
* 3 to 4 teaspoons ReaLemon® Lemon Juice from Concentrate
* 1 cup confectioners' sugar
In small saucepan, melt margarine with ReaLemon; remove from heat. Stir in sugar; mix well.
Drizzle warm icing over bundt or tube cake, coffee cake, or sweet rolls.
